ROTARY SCREW COMPRESSOR TECHNOLOGY. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The screw compressor is a rotary, positive displacement compressor with two axles. The screw compression element is the heart of the compressor. Both the male and female rotors have optimally matched screw-shaped lobes that are very close together and run in the rotor housing that surrounds them closely.

Screw compressors do not have any pulsating parts such as pistons, rods and valves. This facilitates lower vibration operation as far as possible and lowers dynamic loads on supports and coupling. The relatively low number of mechanical parts, especially closure parts, means the risk of a machine break-down is very low.

Unlike piston compressors which use the same principle of compression, the screw element is not equipped with valves. As such, it can work at a high shaft speed and there are no mechanical or volumetric losses to create imbalance. This means that screw technology can combine a large flow rate with a compact, space-saving design.

OIL-FREE SCREW MODELS

Unlike oil-flooded compressors, compression in the compressor stages is completely “dry.” This causes the compression medium to heat up significantly, which limits the possible compression ratio per compressor stage. Due to the absence of lubrication, male and female rotor pro-files must mesh in a contact-free manner, but with the smallest possible gaps in between. This is accomplished through the highly precise synchronizing gear (timing gear) on the rotor shafts.

OIL-LUBRICATED SCREW MODELS

These compressors use lubricant within the compression chamber to cool and lubricate the compressor element. The lubricant helps to form a seal and also has a great noise-damping effect.

How Engineered Air Compressors Packages Work

How Engineered Air Compressors Packages WorkEngineered Air Compressors Packages are air systems that convert power into compressed air using an electric motor. The air compressor package is used for compressing the atmospheric air and supplying this compressed air to the air dryer.Compressors, dryers, filters, receivers, coolers, and control systems provide air to different parts of a plant. Some of these parts are essential to keeping the plant running and safe. These packages are engineered and designed to meet any customer requirements, capable of producing the right amount of quality air required by users.

Instrument Air Packages. All-in-one Air System

IA and SA packages generally consist of compressors, dryers, filters, receivers, coolers, and control systems that work together to provide reliable (and often critical) air to a variety of plant consumers. Any equipment or system used needs to be properly designed, and able to produce the right amount of quality air required.

Components Of The Typical Package:

  • Air Compressors.
  • Air Dryers
  • Air Filters
  • Air Receivers
  • Coolers
  • Control Systems
  • Coolers

All components are tested and pre-commissioned to work as one system. Ingersoll Rand also provides some complete service solutions, including spare parts and completed maintenance programs.

What are the benefits of Custom Air Compressors Packages?

Custom air compressor packages offer many benefits to customers, including a wide range of applications and a tailored solution:

  • Plug & Play Custom Air Systems. A complete custom air compression system that is ready to use, including air treatment equipment, a nitrogen generator, booster, and all necessary tanks, controllers, and ancillary equipment. This can be mounted in a compact skid, in a shelter, or directly in your facility, depending on requirements.
  • Meet the most demanding technical requirements. A wide variety of options can be customized to meet even the most demanding customer requirements. Every machine can therefore reflect the particular requirement of each customer
